Dr. Chirag Shah is a board certified, fellowship-trained cornea and refractive surgeon. He has specialty training in laser refractive surgery (LASIK and PRK), cataract and corneal transplantation. As a Medical and Surgical Director of LasikPlus Vision Centers in the Philadelphia area, he has performed over 30,000 laser refractive surgeries to reduce his patients’ dependence on glasses and contacts. Dr. Shah uses the latest in laser treatments and pupil tracking. He uses three different laser platforms (Wavelight/Allegretto and Visx Customvue lasers) which can offer each patient a customized treatment based on their individual prescription and unique visual demands. Dr Shah strongly believes that one laser platform is not appropriate for everyone, and offers different platforms to maximize his patients’ outcomes and ability to achieve 20/20 (or better) vision.
Dr. Shah received his medical degree from Rutgers Medical School. He completed his residency training at NYU Medical Center, specializing in ophthalmology. He then furthered his training by attaining a sub-specialization in laser refractive surgery, corneal and cataract surgery at the prestigious Pittsburgh Eye & Ear Institute at the University of Pittsburg Medical Center. Dr. Shah has authored numerous articles and routinely lectures about new techniques in laser surgery.
